ERNIE SALGADO PUBLISHES FINAL EDITION OF THE FEDERATION INDIAN REPORTER NEWSPAPER
(Formerly The Soboba Indian Reporter)*

"Something you gotta know when to Hold-um and when to Fold-em! And for me the time has come for me to Fold-em...".

The "Federation Indian Reporter" (FIR) is the Southern California tribal community newspaper featuring news of the Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians located on the Soboba Indian Reservation in Riverside County, San Jacinto, Calif.

Our monthly news publication celebrated its three-year anniversary in 2018. FIR was established and first printed on October 1, 2015 by Ernie C. Salgado Jr., a Soboba tribal elder. He is currently its managing editor and publisher.

The original goal of The Federation Indian Reporter is to provide reservation news exclusively to Soboba band members. However, we have expanded to a larger audience of both inter-tribal and non-Indian communities worldwide through our websites: www.federationindianreporter.com www.americanindianreporter.com and www.calie.org (California Indian Education).

ESTABLISHED 1962

The original "The Indian Reporter" newspaper was established in 1962 by Wild Bill Jennings as a local tribal reservation newsletter. Ernie Salgado (Luiseño) continued the newsletter electronically on the Internet in 2009. Ernie Salgado is continuing Wild Bill's grass roots journalism work in 2018 by self publishing under the Soboba Indian Reporter masthead (now The Federation Indian Reporter).

Our monthly tribal community newspaper is printed in full-color and trimmed to 11x22 inches. It includes up to 24 pages, and is delivered through the US mail system.
